FRIDAY AFTERNOON SLOPE SOARING
Post By Richard on Thursday 29 September 2011 - 04:55:25 |

Daylight Saving has started, so it's time to resume our Friday afternoon sloping sessions. Allandale is on for this Friday 30 September. See you there.

ACCESS TO CHRISTCHURCH SLOPE SOARING SITES
Post By Richard on Saturday 23 July 2011 - 00:00:45 |

The Summit Road is open from the top of Mt Pleasant to about a kilometre past John Britten Reserve (right after the parking spot at The Loop). It is also open from the Sign of the Kiwi to Mount Vernon, so Sugarloaf is accessible again.

The Summit Rd is still closed between The Loop and Mt Vernon, and so Castle Rock is the only site still inaccessible.

The Taylor's Mistake sloping site is accessible, but not directly from Sumner as Evans Pass is closed, nor from Lyttelton as Sumner Rd is closed, both due to rockfalls. Access is via Mt Pleasant Rd or Moncks Spur Rd to the Summit Rd.

Christchurch soar AGM is next Saturday the 23rd

Hi All,

The Christchurch soar AGM is next Saturday the 23rd of July at our usual meeting place, the Cashmere Club, 88 Hunter Tce, Start time 7pm.

It is time to make a serious decision on the direction the club will take going foward.

Please try and attend as a quorum is necassary for any decisions to be employed.

See you all there.

Wanna go faster? There are at least half a dozen guys keen to get into Dynamic Soaring, plus a few gurus who can introduce us to the Dark Side. We've started getting together for semi-regular DS sessions. If you want to hook up with us, register your interest on the DS-SIG Up Flying forum: [Here] Submitted by PeterF
Summit Rd partially open, Allandale etc. accessible
Post By Richard on Monday 28 March 2011 - 04:15:29 |
The Summit Rd is now open from the Sign of the Kiwi to Gebbies Pass, so Allandale, Hoonhay Park, Cooper's Knob and Gibraltar Rock are accessible again. This Wednesday (30 March) a bunch of guys are meeting at the Wigram polo grounds after work to fly parkflyers etc, and will relocate to Victoria Park or Allandale for some sloping if the wind suits. (Taylor's Mistake slope site is still inaccessible)
