What a fantastic day, awesome weather, great flying and a good time had by everyone. Sunday’s 2m was one of those memorial days.
It wasn’t a serious comp most of us just flying for fun, Carl took the win using a hand launch glider, Jonathan came a close second using his Sophisticated lady.
Several members of the public stopped to watch us fly also.
I’ll add some pics during the week.

General: Calendar for 2009/2010 season

The new support crew have meet and produced a calendar for 2009/2010 season, The first thing you’ll probably notice is the lack events and a proliferation of combat.
Don’t panic, we do intend to add a few events in during the year, The support crew have decided that calendaring events that nobody attends is pointless, so instead we keeping it simple. If interest builds for any event type, we’ll endeavour to add them in.
We now have combat twice a month, the middle Friday and last Wednesday of each daylight savings month. Peter will be running the Friday events.
We invited the Cmac gliding officer to our meeting, we hope to have a few internationals with them this season.
We’ve even chucked in a few 2m and thermal days for the winter, Shane at Canterbury Sailplanes is organising a foam hand launch event. There will be more info on this closer to the time.
We also calendared a few national slope contests, there’s a group of like minded flyers in Wellington and Auckland that are hanging out for some sort of national slope contest.
The NDC events listed will only be run if we can confirm numbers, so please keep an eye on the site for comp registrations.
I’m looking forward to another great year, as I’m sure most of you are.

Hi All,
Indoor time again! Haven't had one for a while now!
I have booked us this years indoor dates till october, so DON"T FOrGET and no late notice or had something else planned excuses! =)
Venue is Pioneer Stadium.
Dates are as follows:
- Sunday 29th March, 6.30-8pm
- Sunday 26th April, 6-8pm
- Sunday 24th May, 6-8pm
- Sunday 21st June, 6-8pm
- Sunday 19th July, 6-8pm
- Sunday 2nd August, 6-8pm
- Sunday 11th October, 6-8pm
So gear up for the 29th of March where we will kick off the indoor flying year =)
