This will be an open meeting meaning that anybody is welcome to come too and join in, We have arranged the NZMAA’s Phoenix 2 rc flight sim for the night also. On Friday night Dale and I attended a meeting with the Hang Glider club President and Air space officer, This was moderated and minuted by our local nzmaa rep. We have agreed that Pylon racing will no longer be held at Allendale, However Sport flying will remain with a few safety guidelines in place, these are currently being jointly formalized.
In the mean time, if Hand Gliders are on site, and your sport flying, Please keep clear of the runway, this includes when they setup to land. This is one of their biggest concerns.
Id also ask members to please avoid entering into any disagreements with the hand glider pilots on site or in the forums over this issue.
I appreciate your cooperation and patience while we deal with this, we will keep you all informed.
Thanks,
Mike.

Carl takes out first place in the 2008 60inch final, although he didn’t win the day, he still had sufficient points to take out the series, Jonathan came second and Dale third, Nick wins the special prize for most improved flyer. Congratulations to you all…
Jonathan was the winner on the day, with Carl coming in second, Sean fought his way up from 8 place to take third. The wind was patchy at times but we managed to make the best of it, There was some spectacular flying from the hard ships also. Thanks to all those who turned out just to help. See you all next 60“ season. There’s a weekend off next week , Then f3f starts again pss is being replaced by round 2 of the f3f, We have knocked 2 of the f3f rounds off to take the pressure of the season, so now we’ll fly only 3 more f3f rounds this season. Check out all the results click below. Mike.

fly4fun writes "Weather turned out fine and plenty of wind for another fantastic contest at Allendale! Fortunately the relatively calm wind on the flat did not seem to put off too many people and there was a good turnout. It was even warm on the slope which is unusual for a 20KPH NE. Joe Wurtz won the day, with Alex Hewson 2nd and Sean McCurry 3rd. It was fun to see some close competition with different types glider including a number of foamies. 1. Joe W 3000 2. Alex H 2871 3. Sean M 2616 4. Jonathan W 2532 5. Dale 2114 6. Andrew M 1964 7. Peter H 1883 8. Bruno 1629 9. Craig 1613 10. Carl S 1418 11. Robert D 1277 There were some excellent displays of sportsmanship including Joe W loaning his glider to Alex for the last two rounds after Alex had a servo failure. Further details can be found at http://www.chchsoar.org.nz/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1142 Big thanks to everyone for their help - it made the CDs job much easier and I even got to fly! Enjoyed competing with the Opus of "Ballast" McCurry.
